Votive Candle Tips
Votive candles require that you use a tight fitting votive cup. There should be no gap between candle and side of glass votive holder. The reason is the votive will melt and if there is a gap the wax will fall down in the gap causing votive to burn incorrectly.

Jar Candle Tips
When you first light a jar candle there are a few things to remember. First, use a ruler to measure wick to 5mm long. This is just a hair over 1/4 inch. Then burn candle the first time for aleast 3 hours. The reason is it will allow candle to burn close to edge to edge. If you only burn 1 hour it will create groves that will pool wax at less that edge to edge. Then after inital burn you should burn 2 to 4 hours. Use the lid to put out.

Trouble Shooting
The Mushroom on wick. This is because the wick became to long. This happens because of high fragrance load, wick length, temp of room, etc. Think of a wick as having a sweet spot. The right lenght for proper burning. If candle burns long enough without trimming a mushroom may form. All you have to do is let candle cool then retrim wick. Long wick will make any candle smoke. So trim them and they will burn very clean!

How to safely use candles

Always store your candles in a cool, dark and dry place.

- Never use a knife or a sharp object to remove wax drippings from a glass votive holder. It might scratch or weaken the glass, causing it to break upon subsequent use.

- Put in refreigerator for 30 minutes. Votive should pop out!

- Avoid burning candles in any glass item not specifically designed for
candles. Glass candleholders are specifically manufactured to withstand
the temperature changes that occur when burning a candle. Everyday
glassware is not designed for burning candles.

- Make sure votive is tight fitting or candle will not burn correctly.

- Avoid placing your candles where they will be directly exposed to sunlight
or harsh indoor lighting, such as a spotlight. Candles may fade if they are
left in bright light for an extended period of time.

Burning a Candle Safely
- Remember, a lighted candle is an open flame. Be careful. Always follow
the basic rules of fire safety when burning candles:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep it in your sight.
- Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Always use an
appropriate candleholder and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Read the label and follow the manufacturer's use and safety instructions
carefully.
- Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use.

Burn candles in a' well-ventilated room, but away from drafts and air
currents.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

- Extinguish any candle if it smokes, flickers repeatedly, or the flame
becomes too high. Cool, trim the wick, check for drafts, and re-light. Don't
allow the flame to come too close to the holder or container. For a margin
of safety, discontinue using a candle when it is within 2 inches of the holder
or 1/2 inch of the container bottom.

- Never move a lighted candle, and never move a votive or container
candle when the wax is liquid. Extinguish a pillar candle if the wax pool
approaches the outer edge.

- Place lighted candles at least 3 inches apart.
- Follow all instructions on candle label or card provide on candle or contact us before burning if there is concern.
